The Vacheron Constantin ref. 4178 was produced during a period of great excitement for Swiss watchmaking, during which manufacturers focused on the development of high-precision chronographs. The 343 caliber, with its column-wheel architecture, represented the pinnacle of chronograph technology of the time.
