Vacheron Chronograph Pink Gold Ref 4072

An elegant and exceptionally rare chronograph, this Vacheron & Constantin Ref. 4072 is presented in 18kt pink gold, one of the most desirable and elusive configurations of this celebrated reference. Produced from 1938 through the 1970s in a variety of executions, the pink gold examples are notably scarce, with production estimated at only 363 pieces.

This superb 1950s example is distinguished by its highly attractive pink pulsation dial, signed Gradue Pour 30 Pulsations, a rare and sophisticated detail that greatly enhances its collector appeal. It is further complemented by a beautifully matched 18kt pink gold bracelet, giving the watch an especially refined and distinctive presence on the wrist.

Adding to its importance, the caseback bears the Geneva key number 4, indicating manufacture by Antoine Gerlach, a respected Genevan casemaker. The case is in very good overall condition with only minor signs of wear, retaining strong lugs, sharp edges, and a crisp hallmark between the chronograph pushers. The inner caseback is particularly well preserved, with clear hallmarks and engravings. The dial is original, untouched, and in very good condition.
