The Rolex Daytona Ref. 16520 in stainless steel holds a special place in the history of the model as the first automatic Daytona ever introduced. Launched in 1988, this landmark reference marked a major turning point for Rolex. Lacking an in house automatic chronograph movement at the time, Rolex turned to Zenith’s celebrated El Primero caliber, extensively reworked to create the highly reliable Caliber 4030. This important collaboration gave rise to one of the most admired Daytona generations, now affectionately known among collectors as the “Zenith Daytona.”
The present example, dating to 1999, is fitted with a desirable MK4 black dial and is preserved in exceptional New Old Stock condition. Offered as a super full set, it represents a rare opportunity to acquire one of the most collectible modern Daytona references in outstanding state of preservation.
